Gurpal Mandair

These are the final print designs for the Gurpal Mandair project. 

the main focus were designs that would hit the student market hard for a Spring Summer collection. i chose to use a variety of inspirations and placed the prints on jersey maxi dresses. i didn't want the print to take up the entire dress which is why it takes focus in the centre. 

Asos

These are the final designs for the Asos competition. The inspiration given was a mixture of summer days, tie dye and the way ink moves through water. I have created some print designs based on my interpretation of there ideas. I struggled with putting together the ink images as they didn't appear to flow on a blank document, sometimes putting them on a garment helps with the process.

As part of my new project i have to engage with the outside world so i can get my design work to be noticed. I am going to be entering competitions, looking for work experience and frequently updating my blog, by doing these i hope to receive some form of feedback on my work.

One of the competitions is with Beta fashion and Asos. I am to design some prints based on inspirational images. i feel the themes are tie dye, summer days and inks swirls in water. 

I'v collected some of my own imagery to help me be creative.

Digital Print

For the past three weeks at uni i chose to do Digital Print for supporting study. It has been a very intense and quick project which has challenged my time keeping and abilities as a designer to generate and develop designs quickly. 

I used photography of lights and flowers for my main inspiration to draw from, then building layers of my images together to create patterns. 

I think that although the collection is quite different as there is a mix between flat images and more 3-D ones, it works well together by having a similar colour palette. 

I would appreciate any comments or feedback on my work, it would be extremely helpful as a student in the real world :)

London Town

i visited my favourite city at the weekend to go and see The Wizard of Oz with my niece at the palladium . it was absolutely brilliant, such a good musical everything was so magical. i took my new panasonic fz45 that i got  for christmas to play with, it took some lovely photograph of all the places i visited.  

Tie Dye

I could not be more in love with thee styling of this photo shoot. i love the native navajo style, especially the dip dyed hair.
